Instagram MCP Server
herascrape ships a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server that exposes its real-time Instagram data API as tools for AI agents and MCP clients — Claude Code, Claude Desktop, Cursor and others. Point an agent at it and it can pull public Instagram data — profiles, followers, comments, hashtags and more — straight inside a conversation, with no HTTP glue to write.
$0.0004 per request ($0.40 per 1,000), flat. Only successful calls are billed.
How it works
The Model Context Protocol is an open standard that lets an AI agent call external tools over a single connection. herascrape runs an MCP server that turns its 37 REST endpoints into 37 tools your agent can call directly, each returning the same structured payload as the REST API. The model decides which tool to call and with what arguments; herascrape fetches the data in real time and hands it back.
Setup
- Create a herascrape account and claim your $1 in free balance.
- Add herascrape’s MCP server —
https://herascrape.com/mcp/— to your MCP client as a remote (HTTP) server. - Your client opens herascrape’s authorization screen; approve it, and the Instagram tools appear in your agent’s tool list, ready to call.
It is a standard remote MCP server secured with OAuth, so there is no API key to paste — your client walks you through authorization the first time you connect.
Tools
All 37 endpoints are available as tools, grouped the same way as the REST API:

- Followers & followingPage through the followers or following of any public account.
- Posts & reelsPull a user’s grid and reels, or any public post or reel by id with its caption and engagement metrics.
- CommentsRead comment threads, expand reply chains, and list comment likers.
- HashtagsHashtag metadata with top, recent and reels feeds.
- LocationsPlace metadata with the top and most recent media tagged there.
- AudioAudio tracks, the media that use them, and trending audio.
- Stories & highlightsActive 24-hour story reels and the highlight trays pinned to a profile.
- SearchSearch users, hashtags, places, audio, and top results.
